Dr Santhosh Kumar Balan is presently working as Senior Assistant Professor in GMR Institute of Technology, Andhra Pradesh, India. He pursued Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Director of Technical Education between 1997 to 2000. He continued pursuing Bachelor of Engineering – Computer Science and Engineering from Bharathiar University between 2001 to 2004. Subsequently, he pursued Master of Engineering with Specialisation of Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University, Tiruchirappalli between 2008 to 2011. With a strong desire in research and development, he perused and completed his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Anna University, Chennai in the year 2018 which was highly commended.
Santhosh Kumar has more than 56 publication in a total of which 24 are journal publication, and 32 are conferences publication. He has delivered 5 guest lectures and 3 three keynote speeches on various occasions. He has filled one patent. He has authored a book titling “Database Management System” which was published by Kongunadu Publications India Private Limited in the year 2017. He has guided more than 32 batches of undergraduate projects and 6 batches of postgraduate projects related to computer science engineering.
He has produced remarkable academic achievements in all the subject handled in undergraduate and postgraduate. His area of interest includes Data Mining, Database Management System, Data Structures, Software Engineering, Internet of Things but not limited to. He has been awarded the best Performer in Infosys Campus Connect Program; I2OR Bright Researcher Award 2018 by International Institute of Organized Research in 2018; Young Researcher in Computer Science Engineering by Global Outreach Research Award; Global Teacher Award 2018 by AKS Education Foundation in 2018; IARDO Outstanding Doctoral Best Thesis Award 2018 by International Association of Research and Developed Organization in 2018.
He has participated in numerous seminars, workshops, conferences and faculty development program organised by various government institutions and other nodal agencies. He has been serving as the editorial board member for International Journal of Electronics Communication and Computer Technology (IJECCT), International Journal of Internet and Computer Security (IJICS), International Journal of Networking and Computer Engineering (IJNCE), International Journal of Systems, Algorithms & Applications (IJSAA) and International Journal of Advanced Research in Management, Engineering and Technology (IJARMET). He is also serving as the reviewer for various international conference organised by ASDF, IEEE and Springer. He is also serving as the reviewer for few reputed journals globally.
He is the member in Member in Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology, Database Management Systems Community, Universal Association of Computer and Electronics Engineers, International Association of Engineers and global member in Internet Society.
He is happily married to Nandhini Santhosh Kumar since 2008 and has a son and daughter. His hobbies widely include listening to music and playing chess.
