Dr Stars Jasmine is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at Anna University. She has about 30 years of experience in teaching and had taught the secondary and higher secondary school students, apart from being the Principal of the school for 14 years. She always follows the student-centred learning atmosphere in classes and had introduced innovative teaching methods in school and college. She aspired for holistic education for students and had made them get involved in the learning process. She was awarded the Bharath Excellence Award and Golden Personalities Award by the Friendship Forum, New Delhi.

Her PhD thesis is titled “Gender Bias in ESL Acquisition” which was published as a monograph by Verlag de Muller, Germany in the year 2007. She had brought out a Technical English Textbook for college students. Her projects were on Teaching and Learning Listening Skill and Production of a Pedagogical Model for Listening. E materials and teaching modules had been prepared to improve the passive skill of the learners. Some of the areas of research are Using Mobile Assisted Language Learning(MALL), Motivation and Aptitude of Language Learners, Use of Technology in Language Learning, Digital Stories, Project Based Language Learning, etc. She had been the Chief Editor of the Guindy Times, the college news magazine for 12 years and Anna University News Bulletin for 10 years. She is interested in western music and travelling.
